Houston, Texas – (December 20, 2024) – Today, Athenian Group, a leading consulting firm specializing in program management and business transformation, was selected to partner in the Austin Light Rail project, led by the Austin Transit Partnership (ATP). This initiative will bring Austin its first all-electric light rail system, featuring 15 stations, miles of shaded walk and bike paths, and thousands of jobs for Texans.

Upon completion, the Austin Light Rail will transform the city’s landscape by enhancing mobility, reducing congestion, linking communities, and promoting sustainability. The project is projected to generate over $30 billion in economic impact. Additionally, more than 2,300 Texas businesses are expected to contribute goods and services to the project.

The design and construction contracts for the Austin Light Rail, valued at more than $7 billion, will begin procurement in January, with construction expected to commence in 2027.
